I wrote the single "When it Rains it Pours" up near Mohegan Lake in Westchester county NY way back in 1985. I always liked the hook and knew one day it would end up in one of my music theatre works. It was actually on one of my first collections of copyrights. I was travelling a lot at the time and when I was home I was writing a lot too. I had a Tascam 8 track casstte recorder that integrated to my MIDI instruments. I was producing about 4, 6, 8 songs every 6 months or so at the time
It's magical how songs can fit well in shows many years later and this song was perfect for the closing song in BANNED; after all, the music ensemble just learns that the ban on their festival show has been lifted through a chance relationship they built at a group therapy session. There's been a convergence with WYSIWYG, BANNED and When it Rains it Pours. It's such a well rounded music theatre show now. More to come!
